About
raawii was founded in 2017 by Bo Raahauge Rasmussen and Nicholai Wiig-Hansen in Copenhagen, Denmark. The brand name is a combination of the first letters of their last names.
Both founders - one designer and educator, the other an economist and development expert - want to work with a variety of creatives and have a passion for turning ideas into reality. Their ambition is for raawii to be a design platform that utilises the power of creativity to contribute to cultural and social advancement.
The raawii design philosophy
raawii challenges the status quo of design through curiosity. We constantly search for the better, unknown solution. At the same time, we look for partners that challenge us and our way of doing things.
We draw much of our inspiration from art: in fact, our very first collection - Strøm - references a known Danish cubist painting. Our curiosity extends to design and craftsmanship. Diversity in design is one of our principles, yet all our products are united by sculptural qualities in volume and shape, as well as a bold use of colour.
